Improvement of insulation and installation of aerothermal system for DHW at HOTEL TARULL in Tossa de Mar: Project included in the program Aid for energy efficiency and circular economy projects for tourism businesses, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU. Supported by the Department of Business and Labor.

The actions at the hotel have focused on improving infrastructure (terraces), with a renovation in insulation and the optimization of operational processes to increase efficiency and sustainability. The following initiatives have been implemented:

  1.  1. Infrastructure improvement: thermal and acoustic insulation of the terrace floors and third-floor walls have been renovated. Aerothermal Heating and Cooling System: an ACS system based on aerothermal energy has been implemented, using the constant temperature of the subsoil to efficiently regulate the hot water temperature of the hotel.

  2.  2. Installation of solar panels: Solar panels have been installed on the hotel terrace to generate electricity from solar energy. This installation covers a significant portion of the hotel's daily energy consumption.

Objectives:

  •  _Reduce dependence on non-renewable energy sources.

    •  _Decrease the hotel's environmental impact.

      •  _Improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Results:

  •  _50% of the hotel's energy consumption now comes from renewable energy sources, primarily solar and aerothermal.

    •  _Operational energy costs have been reduced thanks to the efficiency of the implemented systems.

These actions have been made possible thanks to the financial support of the European Union, which has provided the necessary resources to implement these advanced and sustainable technologies. This collaboration demonstrates the EU's commitment to promoting sustainable practices and the use of renewable energy in the tourism sector.
